Going out to random bridges around the city is usually lonely. Ok not usually, always. But on Friday I had a little bit of an interesting day. After taking care of some paperwork in the office, I set out to inspect 4 bridges near the University.
The first bridge was on Crowchild by 9th Ave. I got honked at twice. It could have been to scare me. Or could have been the hot orange vest I wear!
The second bridge was on Crowchild too but by 14th Ave. Some homeless guy carrying a garbage bag full of recycleables asked me if I was a mechanical engineer. I said no, civil, and he proceeded to tell me about his experience in the oil patch (or something. I didn't really understand him. He was using big words.) and I continued to said o wow, I see, uh huh. Then he launched into another story about how he was sleeping off some beers on a park bench downtown and some policemen came and gave him a $250 ticket for loitering, and a $150 ticket for alcohol possesion, and some other stuff and how the police in Calgary are way more aggressive than in Vancouver or anywhere else. I got a little freaked out to be honest, but eventually he went away.
The third bridge was the pedestrian bridge at the University LRT station. There I saw my old roommate's horrible religion studies teacher. I went to some of her classes and and ended up arguing with him about whether or not Jesus was learned.
The fourth bridge was a really small timber one in University Park. I walked up the path to it (again in my sweet orange vest) and two older ladies had just crossed it with their little dog. I did the inspection and went back to my car but then realized I didn't take any pictures so I decided to go back, and here were these same ladies just crossing the bridge again!
So that was the day.
O ya, and in case you're interested. We've conditionally bought a house.

Comments?
We just caught wind that someone is having trouble posting comments on our blog. And since comments are very good, I did some serious digging and found out how to fix it! It was really just a click. Now you can comment even if you don't have a blog! Hooray.

Rebuttal Dear Husband
As Zoe artfully put, welcome to life in the drastic pace (ie wife) lane! So here is the list of things I/we accomplished last night:
4 loads of laundry done and folded and put away.
Bathroom cleaned.
Prescription forms filled out and hopefully mailed away today (Thank you dear husband).
Went to Michaels AND Staples but did NOT find envelopes that will fit pictures. Seriously people. Why do you not sell them?! Well, we did find an EMPTY shelf for them at Michaels but they were ridiculously expensive.
Went to Superstore to get groceries (including plastic bins!).
Signed up for the TD savings plan.
Went to Rona and bought an air conditioner. Hooray!
Everything else will have to wait for later! There’s a wedding this week and people flocking into Calgary from all over that I get to see!

Oh Please Help!!
So I come home from work today and enter my cave. Shortly after I enter my cave I exited it to find a list that my dear wee wife came up with today. Here it is
Go to M&M to get more chicken breasts and sign up for Max emails
Fill out prescription forms and mail away
Return a shirt and tie to MEXX
Take all our stuff that we dont need to Value Village (could be another post at some other time)
Go to Michaels to find envelopes that will fit pictures
Go to Superstore to get groceries
Sign up for TD savings plan [everytime you use your debit card it puts a preauthorized amount
into your savings account (pretty cool if you ask me)]
Go WAY down south to look at a piano
Go to Rona/Home depot to look for a air conditioner (so we might have a chance at sleeping through the night with out having to change the sheets!)
So there is the list of what she wants us to accomplish tonight!! Perhaps I should have left work at noon.

First Post!
We have officially joined the blog world! We are frequent blog viewers and it seems new blogs of friends and family keep popping up all over the place. I've been talking about starting a blog ever since we got married but have never got around to it. Yesterday, my husband (of all people!) started a blog for us! As if we don't have enough other things to do already!
The house is still not organized or clean. The thank you cards are barely started and no where near done. Friends are waiting patiently to see us. And we are patiently waiting for the right house. We are lacking in the sleep department.
Laura.
