November Long Weekend

We got to meet our sweet niece for the first time on the November long weekend. She is the tiniest and cutest little thing. We had a great weekend full of good food, exploring downtown, and fine friends but I only took pictures of her. Don't worry. She's gorgeous so you won't get tired of looking at all these pictures!

Wearing the bear hat I made for her.

Run and Climb

On the last Saturday of October, Leif's sister and I joined some of my work friends for a 5km race along the river. It was a crisp but sunny fall morning and we all did really well. On Sunday morning we woke up to snow and cold so we were all glad the race happened the day before!

After the run, Leif's brother-in-law took us for a tour of The Bow building. It's a beautiful structure. Seriously gorgeous. Check out that diagrid and crescent shape.

And the inside was just as beautiful. Foyer of one of the skygarden levels.

A view of downtown.

This is the skygarden we were in. The furniture was very modern and there were even throw pillows on the couches!

The giant head in front of the building.

I got to carry this monkey for the afternoon. Love his cuddles.

On the drive back home, this cutie and I played with her birthday present from us. She is one smart cookie!

K and B's Wedding

For the Thanksgiving weekend, we traveled out to Vancouver Island for the most gorgeous wedding ever. On the morning of the wedding, while Leif was fulfilling groomsman duties, I went exploring downtown Duncan with two other lovely couples.

There was a farmer's market on while we were walking around. It had the most variety of vendors I've ever seen!

The lovely four who let me tag along.

The outdoor ceremony full of love!

The view from the reception area.

Handsome hubby!

And then the fun began! A set of keys to the newlywed's house was left behind and a bunch of us took full advantage of it!

Their bedroom.

Their master bathroom toilet complete with no tear toilet paper.

 And the shower.

Then we had some fun placing about 3000 cups full of water on their floor. Yes, that's the right number of zeros. It was a labour of love!

A little personalized message.

The kitchen.

Between the living room and the kitchen.

The second message of love in the dining area.

View from the front door into the kitchen. Those sinks were full of water so they couldn't cheat!

Overall effect. Welcome home!!!

October Birthdays

The first birthday we celebrated in October was my grandma's. After some delicious cake, we celebrated by going out in the street to teach my brother how to ride Leif's motorcycle.

And take couple selfies! :)

Then Joel and Leif had an arm wrestle competition. Random!

Then it was our gap-tooth-smile niece's birthday.
