Leif finished our beautiful chest filing cabinet last week! I made it really challenging for him because I didn't want any screws or nails or glue going into the antique chest. That way if we decide to repurpose it or sell it, there won't be any weird holes. For all you handy people out there who want to know, he used 45 degree cuts on the corners and notched the middles of the long board to slide the middle divider board into. It's hard to tell from the picutres but the hinges of the lid are part way into the box so everything had to be assembled inside it.
And here is it half loaded! The other side has ugly boxes in it now for when I start selling my yarn creations on Etsy.
I had to reorganize the filing to fit into the new box and we cleaned out the guest room closet, so we both looked through some keepsakes from when we were younger. I came across this awesome picture from a long time ago.
On Saturday night we went out for supper with the kidlets and their parents and then took a tour of Leif's work. Something weird happened to our camera and it deleted most of the pictures I took. :( Here's what was left (the nerdy stuff!). This is inside the wheel cavity (sorry hubby I don't remember what it's actually called!!) of a really big plane. I'd hate to have to fix anything in there.
And here are some pictures of the structure because it's odd that the trusses get smaller towards the middle of the ceiling and towards the bottom of the floor. I'm going to ask some smart people at work why it works.
